Baby Boy is almost 11 months

OH MY GOODNESS! This year has gone by WAY TOO FAST! Our tiny little boy (who we didn't even know what a boy a year ago) is almost 11 months old. Holy Buckets!

Jack is the sweetest, most loving little guy we could ask for. Now he has gone from just crawling a couple months ago to now standing on his own and even trying to take a couple of steps! (This is from one piece of furniture to another, so no walking independently yet.)

After we got our antibiotics after Christmas, he has been much more active, as have I.

Jack's favorite thing to do is to locate his brother and play with him. He is pretty lost when Jace is not around (i.e. if Nick takes him to the store or the farm or something). He is constantly sitting on Jace's train tracks and leaning in to give Jace sloppy open-mouthed kisses or big hugs. Luckily for us, Jace is pretty understanding and loves to entertain Jack for the most part.

Jack is shaping up a lot like his brother. He will sit in his crib and talk to himself and play with his toys for a long time. This morning he and his brother slept in until nine o'clock! (Hence, we skipped church.) He is a very, very good boy.

Jack also loves to dump out the dog food and water, throw wet toys out of the bathtub, and stand up on anything that can be stood on (whether it is safe or not). He likes to bang things and throw things on the floor (to see how fast you can pick them up :)).

Finally our little guy is getting better at a sippy cup, which we are happy about because we are trying to ween him off the bottle. We are going to quit buying formula after our formula is gone (we probably have enough for the next month) and Jack already drinks a lot of whole milk now. He is also pretty much on all "human" food now. He doesn't want anything to do with the last couple of jars of baby food - we simply have to give it to him when he is really hungry. Jack loves chicken, mashed potatoes, and peas. I think our boys can eat peas at every meal!

The only problem Jack has is constipation, which he has had for months now. We have to "help" him go to the bathroom and starting yesterday we are going to try to give him a small amount of Miralax each day. Overall he has been a low-maintenance baby, but we do feel very bad for him because this condition is painful for him. Hopefully it doesn't last forever, because we have tried everything natural (juices, karo syrup, water, etc.) that we can think of.

Here are a few pictures of this cutie. You can tell he wasn't feeling well on Christmas Day - luckily he will not remember his first Christmas anyway! There will be lots more pictures at http://jorgenfamily.shutterfly.com.
