I can't believe our little baby is already six weeks old! It is so amazing. In the last week he has started smiling. It is so exciting because he just lights up when he sees Mommy, Daddy, or Jace. We know his smile will only get bigger in the weeks, months and years to come.
Jack has been a great baby, but I am still suffering from sleep deprivation from time to time. It makes me irritable, but most days are okay. He can sleep up to six or so hours at a time, but he doesn't always do this. Some nights I am still up from 1-2 then from 4-5...or 4-6 or 5-never-go-back-to-sleep. Nick helps when he does not have to work.
Jack has been throwing up a lot less, which is great. We also think he is getting easier to burp. He also is getting more formula now, so he has less dirty diapers a day than when he had mostly breast milk.
Last weekend was Daddy's birthday and we got to see Aunt Britnee and Uncle Eric. We asked them to be Jack's godparents and we plan to get him baptized sometime in May.
I am so glad that I took 12 weeks off of work because I don't think I would have been ready to go back to work this week. I went in on Thursday and Dr. Hamburger released me, but Jack is still pretty small and we aren't on a "great" schedule yet. I am glad I have until May to prepare and spend more time with my boys at home!
